About The Branton & Auckley Arrow
Established in October 2005 The Branton & Auckley Arrow is distributed free every month to 3000 homes and businesses in Branton, Auckley, Finningley and Old Cantley. Once a quarter, the magazine is also distributed to an additional 500 homes in the village of Blaxton. The Arrow is a compact A5 size glossy magazine, bursting with local information that is relevant and personal to the reader and their community. This unique position in the Branton & Auckley community is what makes the Arrow magazines so special.
The Arrow does not focus on news elsewhere, The Arrow is all about supporting communities and bringing them closer together by keeping the residents updated with village life and the many excellent events such as the Auckley Show, school fairs, Auckley Christmas Market, Branton Carol Singing, Finningley Summer ball, all the things that make our villages exceptional. The Arrow also updates its loyal readers with all the regular meetings that take place, whether it’s the Local neighbourhood watch, the Women’s Institute or scouts and brownies. These local activities feature monthly on the what’s on page where a timetable of events and the location of the event can be found.
News on local issues such as road works, relevant building projects and information of value are communicated through The Arrow. Regular features include advanced motoring, local history & country notes, Kids corner (brought to us by the local primary schools year 6 children) as well as the ever popular sermon from Rev’d Neil Redeyoff, serving minister of the parishes of St Oswalds & Trinity Church in Finningley and St Saviours Church in Auckley. The Arrow updates the community on events and activities in our local primary schools with regular articles submitted directly by the schools.
The Arrow works closely with the most popular local radio station in Doncaster Trax FM to help bring communities closer together, sharing relevant news to improve communication. The Arrow is proud to support a nominated special person within the community each month who receives a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers provided by a sponsor local business. The nomination is published and broadcast via Trax FM each month.
In addition to our regular features, news and information, we publish all the local Parish Council Newsletters, either bi-monthly or quarterly. This enables the Parish Councils to communicate information consistently to their parishioners on a regular basis.
Local Doncaster businesses as well as businesses of interest to local people can be found within the pages of The Arrow. Many of the businesses, who advertise, live within the community or close by. The Arrow advocates the promotion of local business and is keen to recycle the pounds spent within our communities.
